Meet Our Providers
Michael J. Ford, MD
Dr. Michael J. Ford is a board certified dermatologist who graduated in 1982 from the University of Florida Medical School with Alpha Omega Alpha honors society membership. He completed his internship and family practice residency at the University of Alabama. He then completed a dermatology residency at the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Ford joined the faculty at the University of Florida (Shands) where he was a professor from 1991 to 1999. He was instrumental in helping start the University of Florida Dermatology Residency. In 1999, he entered private practice in Tallahassee. He loves teaching and continues to share his knowledge with family practice residents, internal medicine students and FSU medicine students. Outside of Southeastern Dermatology, Dr. Ford enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Elaine, have two children and two grandchildren. Brandon Bergschneider, PA-C
Originally from Fort Walton Beach, FL, Brandon graduated from Florida State University in 2002. He briefly pursued a career in business before he realized he was born to practice medicine. While taking his pre-requisite courses, he worked as a medical assistant at Southeastern Dermatology for 3 years. In 2011, he was accepted into Nova Southeastern University’s PA program, and went on to graduate with honors. He was rehired at Southeastern Dermatology in 2013, this time as a certified physician assistant. Being a lifelong Seminole fan, it comes as no surprise Brandon loves his Noles. Brandon began playing golf early in his life, so running into him on the links isn’t uncommon. Spending time with his wife and children, however, is what he loves and values most.
David Yorio, PA
David was a native New Yorker before heading south to obtain his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in 1999. After a brief career in pharmaceutical sales, David realized that his true passion is medicine and began pursuing a master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies at the University of South Alabama. Upon graduation in 2016, he returned home to Tallahassee as the newest member of the Southeastern Dermatology team. A self-proclaimed outdoor enthusiast, David enjoys running, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, and adventuring to new and exciting places around the world. He’s thrilled at being back in Tallahassee and looks forward to serving this community for many years, making a difference in the patients he’s privileged to care for.
Christopher W. Jones, PA-C
Chris was a US Navy Corpsman for 6 years before earning a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Pennsylvania College of Technology – Penn State Affiliate. Chris joined the Southeastern Dermatology team in July 2005. Married with five “furry K-9 children”, Chris is a self-proclaimed Master Rock Hound, outdoor adventurist, and avid seeker of mind enriching experiences.
Charlene Small, DNP, FNP-C, CNE
Charlene is a board certified nurse practitioner who graduated in 2014 with a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a graduate certification as a nurse educator at Florida State University. Her experience is extensive starting her career as a certified nurse assistant in 2007 and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from FSU in 2010. She was appointed as adjunct faculty at FSU and TCC during her graduate studies and her research was internationally published in 2015 titled, “Disruptive Behavior Within the Workplace.” Throughout all of her years of studies, she remained an honor student and received multiple leadership awards. Charlene’s experience has been diverse, including: endovascular and cerebral-vascular neurosurgery with trauma surgery, pain management, hospital medicine, family practice, urgent care, functional medicine, and cardiac. In 2020, she joined the Southeastern Dermatology team.
Charlene enjoys making others smile and inspiring each individual to become the most optimal self. She enjoys spending her time with her family and friends, being near the water, and any activities that involve her dog, Titan. Her true passion is travelling, and she plans to see the world one day!
Mysty’s medical experience started in 1998 in a Chiropractic/Physical Therapy healthcare setting. Her first five years in the practice was spent as a Licensed Chiropractic Assistant. In 2010, she was voted Florida Chiropractic Assistant of the year by the Florida Chiropractic Association. Her career with Southeastern Dermatology started in 2012 as a Medical Assistant/Licensed Aesthetician and a Certified Dermatology Technician. She assists with various clinical procedures and outpatient surgery, such as Mohs surgery for the removal of skin cancer. In Mysty’s free time she enjoys the outdoors, hiking, and is an avid runner. She also enjoys reading, relaxing, and spending time with her family.
